About ECE Department

Electronics & Communication Engineering
About:

It is a Diploma level three-year course. This course provides detailed knowledge about electronics with special stress on electronic communication techniques and systems. After completing this course, student will have knowledge about basic electronics components, basics of electrical engineering, analog and digital electronics, power electronics, transmission lines, wireless communication techniques and mobile systems, microwaves and radar engineering, instrumentation and PLCs, microprocessors and microcontrollers, audio-video systems, optical fibre communication,  along with computer fundamentals and computer language “C” along with electronics simulation techniques.

Scope:

Electronics manufacturing is an important constituent of the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ programmes of the Government. In fact, electronics manufacturing is one of the growth pillars under the ‘Digital India’ programme which envisages increasing production of electronic goods so as to achieve zero net imports.

Therefore, electronics manufacturing is expected to rise in near future. In fact, over the last 4-5 years more than 100 mobile manufacturing companies have been set up in India.

Thus the demand for technicians and junior engineers in electronics manufacturing is expected to rise in near future.

Competency Profile

  • To fabricate and test electronic circuits
  • Manufacturing, testing and maintenance of electronic devices and systems
  • To understand the construction, identification, characteristics, specifications, merits, limitations and applications of electronic components and materials
  • To understand lines communication, audio and video communication, and microwave communication
